As part of this ritual, and mixing the powder of henna leaves with water (and many of the one in some cases, oil and lemon juice as well), to form a paste. Then apply this paste on the hands and feet as well as the bride, in the form of intricate patterns. Are removed only after the henna dries completely off the design. However, the bride can not wash her hands and feet with water, during the next 12 hours at least, to make sure that the color comes out to be dark and rich.
